Biography & Contact Info
Biography:

He was born in San Salvador on May 02, 1961.

His intellectual curiosity for the arts stated at an early age. His interest in learning how to draw and paint drove him to a constant search, which still accompanies him these days. His first encounter with the artistic world was the experience he obtained in classes by the Salvadorian painter Julio Alemán of Ensetec, under whose direction he was motivated to pursue his interest and challenged to express in cloth his feelings from literary passages and poetry, his source of inspiration. That is reflected in the theme and creativity of his work.

He immigrated to the United States in 1980. His frustration for not finding an echo to support his artistic career and the need to subsist in a new society caused him to abandon the paintbrush and the colors for a number of years. Nevertheless, he did not abandon his dreams and his commitment to the art, as his creative and inspiring endeavor never ceased, they were just filed away in the form of drawings that soon became alive as a new time began.

Twenty-five years went by before his dreams woke up from hibernation and it was the same adversities of life that permitted him to reencounter with art. In April 2005, he was invited to participate in a group exhibition at the Consulate of El Salvador in Brentwood, N.Y. as part of the cultural program that the Salvadorian Consulate currently develops.
