Biography:
Natalya Rolbin, is a fine artist specializing in painting, illustration and graphic design. She has recently moved to Brooklyn, New York from Detroit, Michigan. Rolbin's professional experience includes her participation at Michigan art galleries for several years. She has participated in the “Black & White” show at Redd Apple Gallery, in Detroit and the “Artists Among Us” exhibition at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, in Canton. Additional works were also on display at the "Arts & Crafts" show at Oakland University in Rochester Hills.. Her work has been published by local newspapers and magazines, as well as reviewed and collected nationally. She has a B.F.A. from Wayne State University, where she studied painting and graphic design. Natalya’s paintings often take a narrative form, expressing her reactions and observations of life. In her paintings she tries to capture the feeling of a specific moment. She believes that we are tied to our memories by our feelings, and that we remember certain moments of our life because of how they touched us. Studying the figure has been an ongoing exploration for Natalya. She is interested in turning the figure inside out in order to express the inner emotions. She is also adding a 3-D, sculptural feel to her paintings, in order to bring forth a sense of life and force. Her goal is to make the figures come to life and emerge from the canvas into our reality. Through art, Natalya is in a constant search to find her own personal expression of life. Her deep inner desire to paint comes from the need to express every single thing she sees and feels.
